Saving lives by drastically reducing fatal accidents on the roads with Automated Emergency Braking
ADAS features starting from basic L1 features like Automated Emergency Braking and going up to L3 features like Automated Valet Parking, Smart Summon, Rear Parking etc. have been on our radar. Automated Emergency Braking (AEB) raises an alert for the driver to apply brakes or can apply the brakes on its own, depending on the level of autonomy of the car. AEB in cars helps reduce fatal road accidents by a considerable number, thus ensuring that the presence of a vehicle on the road is not a threat to other road users. The AEB feature intensively and specifically focuses on pedestrians and bicyclists. Our algorithms understand the behavioral patterns of these dynamic entities as well as vehicles, motorbikes etc. to predict their next action and only then decide to apply brakes or chart a trajectory for object avoidance for a smooth ride. We pay special attention to certain zones like school zones, construction zones, accident zones, and others where school children, aged citizens and the most susceptible pedestrians are present in high numbers. These zones fall under specially designated operational conditions and our algorithms are trained to make the autonomous vehicle particularly careful in these areas.
