As with most online retailers, our client’s product pages on their ecommerce website were individually represented with just two to three photographs. Customers often had difficulty understanding how certain products looked. Furthermore, 40% of online customer returns occurred because the customer believed that the item did not look as intended.
Wipro’s Consumer BU, which has been anchoring the engagement, partnered with Scapic to jointly propose a SaaS solution that allows easy creation and management of 360-degree, 3D product visualization. Working alongside the client marketing team and ANS product display page (PDP) teams, Wipro delivery augmented the solution with functionalities to add hotspots that aid the provision of relevant product information to ecommerce customers. A simple dashboard was created to manage the entire, end-to-end workflow -- from creating sprites to mapping the visualizer with a product ID, and embedding the 360-degree, 3D visualizer.
Following this collaboration, our client experienced increased customer engagement, including higher click-through rates and increased user dwell times (time on page). Additionally, this solution translated to an overall reduction in product returns.
