Grupo Éxito is one of the largest multilatinas companies in Colombia and a relevant food retailer in South America, with operations in Colombia, Uruguay, and Argentina. The company has clear competitive advantages derived from its strength in innovation, stores, and the value of its brands, supported by the quality of its human resources. Grupo Éxito also leads with an omni-channel strategy and diversifies its income with a profitable portfolio of complementary businesses to improve its retail offering.
Grupo Éxito was looking for solutions with a clear return on investment that would add tangible value to the organization. One of the fundamental pillars of undertaking a transformation or change is that the results are sustainable over time, that they can incorporate the best practices of the industry, and above all, that it is financially viable.
Grupo Éxito defined a set of parameters related to automation, bots, and RPA, in order to accelerate its business.
After these initial definitions, Grupo Éxito began the search for a supplier that would meet all its requirements, among which the following stand out:
- Experience in Automation Solutions - they were looking for a provider with extensive proven experience specifically in these types of solutions.
- Comprehensive approach - it was critical that the chosen provider has the ability to deliver a complete product, without silos between licensing, services, support, etc.
- Operational, financial, and technical capacity - a project of this type needed to have adequate support.
- Keeping cost down throughout the process
Wipro managed to beat out the competition as it met all the requirements established by Grupo Éxito.
Wipro developed and presented an RPA-based plan for process automation, where the objective was to provide the client with all the tools necessary for a successful implementation. This implies not only having the adequate licensing but also bot development and implementation services.
Wipro's plan included the definition of objectives and performance indicators so that Grupo Éxito could have the right metrics at its disposal to gauge the impact of this project.
Wipro, together with Grupo Éxito, launched this plan, with a defined methodology and with clear milestones for the project.
Thus began the approval process by the project sponsors, in which a survey of information was presented that included areas for improvement, internal work teams, required resources etc., in addition to the goals and objectives that would be met at the end of the project.
Grupo Éxito now has 44 bots implemented, impacting more than 40 processes that have been intervened. This translates to more than 14,000 transactions executed in an automated way, in addition to an improvement in productivity in activities such as billing, demand planning, payroll, accounts receivable of more than 200% and an accumulated profit of more than $ 1,000 million Colombian pesos (USD $ 250,000 +)
