Smart IoT London 2017:

Under the Lens

Three months of preparation and anticipation recently came to a momentous close as Smart IoT London 2017 drew the curtains. The 2-day event (15 – 16 March, 2017) brought together enterprise and service providers, buyers and influencers in the Internet of Things space.

One of the industry’s foremost events guiding businesses on their IoT journey, Smart IoT London also provides the opportunity for technologists to expand their horizons and technology vendors to showcase their leading solutions. We were proud to take on a key role with Wipro Digital headlining as Diamond Sponsors of the event, showcasing “Maturing from IoT to IoE” as the key theme of our presentations.

The Wipro Digital booth drew visitors with our signature branding and an intriguing infographic that captured the big-picture IoT ecosystem. Our team met more than 50 attendees across Manufacturing, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Smart City, Retail and BFSI sectors. The speaking sessions by our leaders in the IoT space drew large crowds and active engagement from the audience.

Wish you had been there? Here are our presentations.

Realising Business Outcomes and Digital Transformation with IoT

The ever-changing dynamics of today’s world are forcing enterprises, irrespective of industries, to re-invent themselves – be it in products, services or business processes. For enterprises to remain relevant and sustainable, Digital Transformation of their business is key and the success of those transformations is a direct result of outcomes realised.

Jayraj Nair (VP and Global Head of IoT at Wipro) shared our perspective on how to realise value, design, build and operate solutions using the digital transformation framework for a multitude of use cases, and how ecosystem partnerships are key to delivering robust end-to-end IoT solutions. Designing IoT Experiences in the Age of Humanised Technology

In the digital age of working, the development of products and services is usually systems-centric rather than human-centric. IoT is certainly no exception to that – yet while it is considered to be all about smart, connected devices and services, the human factor is often overlooked.

Guido Woska (Chief Client Officer at Designit) explored why we should apply human-centric design principles to create meaningful, valuable IoT experiences for consumers, and how doing so will lead to more assured business for organisations. Click here for the Presentation

Delivering Innovation and Digital Transformation with IoT

Business outcomes and human-centric design are two key drivers for digital transformation enabled by IoT. Every industry is starting to realise their importance and embrace these drivers in their own ways. In order to leverage the connected ecosystem and achieve the maturity that is predicted, service providers must work collaboratively as an ecosystem and nurture innovation and design for the future.

Vijay Anand V R (GM and Practice Director, IoT Business Solutions at Wipro Digital) shared insights from our proven approach using these key drivers and the IoT successes we have delivered. Click for the Presentation

Living the Journey with an Adopter: Panel Discussion

This panel included our very own Vijay Anand V R and Richard Cornish and was moderated by Dr. John Bates, CEO of PLAT.ONE.

IoT connects the likes of drones, wearables, smart cars, intelligent buildings, and can even contribute to building a more sustainable planet. Most importantly, the key value of digitalisation lies in how one fulfils customer requirements. As Richard rightly pointed out, “No one buys IoT, everyone buys business transformation through digital.”
