Transformed machine tending automation solutions that include setup change automation, software orchestration and vision integration
Machine tending is the process of loading a component into a machine, waiting for the machine to perform the required operation on the component and then unloading the operated component from the machine. The operations include drilling, milling, turning, broaching, sawing, grinding, honing, and lapping among others. A robot is further expected to carry out the required assembly operations and inspection. Currently machine tending is predominantly a human intensive operation across the world and is controlled by a traditional PLC based system
Wipro’s expertise involves deploying automated robotic machine tending solutions with setup change automation, vision integration to handle input and output variability, virtual commissioning, software orchestration of overall operation, and other intelligent features on top of traditional robotic machine tending. We have designed a software-driven robot kart sitting on a rail and tending to multiple CNC machines. Our robotics platform includes modules for all the essential processes including job management, setup change automation, part management, and hardware management.
Our customers realize benefits such as reduced logistics costs, decreased labor costs, shorter deployment time, elimination of skilled labor dependency, improved quality, and increased productivity from our solutions.
