We cordially invite you to join our Life Sciences Executive Roundtable Dinner on November 5th, 2018 at Hyatt Regency, Princeton, to share and garner insights with fellow executives and industry experts on preventing counterfeiting and product wastage in cold chains.
At the roundtable, Siong Ho, Sr. Director, Global Packaging Technology, Shire Pharmaceuticals, Phil Koretz, IoT Principal Solution Specialist, Microsoft Corp, Ray Wang, CEO and Founder, Constellation Research and Sujan Thanjavuru, Head of Strategy & Consulting, Life Sciences GCG Practice, Wipro Ltd will discuss:
Abstract: “Digital Transformation of cold chains and brand protection for patient safety”
According to a WHO report, substandard, spurious, falsely labelled, falsified or counterfeit (SSFFC) medicines constitute up to 10% of the global drug supply chain amounting to a whopping $75 Billion a year. SSFC drugs harm patients and causes brand erosion, litigation, regulatory issues and losses to drug manufacturers; making it a top industry challenge. Another top challenge is product wastage due to temperature excursions in cold chain amounting to about $17 Billion a year.
To address these top industry challenges, Wipro is building an open source industry solution “Digital Supply Chain & Anti-Counterfeiting Platform” in collaboration with Microsoft and Shire Pharmaceuticals. The platform secures the supply chain and prevents cold chain wastage, by generating geo spatial alerts in real time in the event of a temperature excursion or counterfeiting attempt. Built on cutting edge IoT, Blockchain and Cloud, this platform will transform supply chain security and help with regulatory compliance. We will discuss how this platform can effectively address the two major challenges of counterfeit drugs and cold chain product wastage.
