In this CDAO Circle panel discussion, James Jeude hosted a panel of experts - Doug Laney, Arka Ray, and Jennifer Hinkel - to explore the evolving landscape of data economics and AI. The panel addressed the practicalities of allocating costs and benefits in complex data projects, noting that traditional chargeback models are becoming less common. Instead, successful organisations foster collaboration across departments and focus on identifying and tracking both the costs and the diverse forms of value that data can generate. Looking ahead, the experts recommended that CDAOs treat data as a strategic asset, engage stakeholders across the business, and develop robust methods for valuing and managing data.
