Ambition

A global organization operating across safety, health, and environmental technology set out to modernize its fragmented ERP landscape to improve business agility, automation, and scalability. The enterprise was running multiple legacy ERP platforms, including different versions of Microsoft NAV alongside parallel SAP environments, resulting in inconsistent processes, data silos, and duplicate effort across regions.

These legacy systems increasingly limited system performance, drove higher manual intervention, constrained cross‑functional visibility, and created challenges in meeting evolving regulatory requirements across markets. Heavy customizations and regional variations further increased operational inefficiencies, leading to frequent slowdowns, higher support overheads, and limited flexibility to scale operations.

The transformation also needed to be delivered within aggressive timelines, requiring a rapid yet controlled modernization approach with minimal disruption to ongoing business operations. To support its growth strategy, the organization sought a unified, cloud‑based ERP platform that could standardize core processes, strengthen compliance, improve reporting quality, and provide a scalable digital foundation for future expansion.

Action

Wipro implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, together with Supply Chain Management and Advanced Warehouse Management, to establish a modern, unified ERP ecosystem across two global entities. The program focused on replacing aging, fragmented ERP systems with standardized, cloud‑first processes while maintaining business continuity and ensuring strong user adoption.

The solution modernized end‑to‑end enterprise workflows, including Record‑to‑Report, Procure‑to‑Pay, Order‑to‑Cash, production planning, asset management, and warehouse operations. Multiple NAV and SAP systems were consolidated into a single Dynamics 365 platform, significantly simplifying the application landscape and improving overall system reliability and performance.

To support long‑term scalability and upgrade readiness, customization was intentionally kept below 10%, supported by accelerated engineering using GitHub Copilot. The implementation delivered more than 20 integrations and addressed over 425 user stories, covering automation for tax and invoicing, bank reconciliation, advanced planning, CPQ‑led product configuration, OCR‑based invoice processing, and warehouse optimization.

A structured change management and enablement program was executed alongside the deployment, supported by more than 50 training assets, hands‑on onboarding, and detailed process documentation. This approach enabled smooth adoption across business teams and reduced post‑go‑live stabilization effort.

Ambitions Realized

The ERP modernization delivered clear, measurable improvements in financial efficiency, operational performance, and decision‑making. Finance operations achieved a 30–40% faster month‑end close, driven by standardized processes, increased automation, and improved data integrity.

Reporting quality improved by approximately 50%, with unified, real‑time data enabling more accurate, consistent, and timely insights across functions and geographies. The elimination of unsupported, heavily customized legacy systems also enhanced system stability, audit readiness, and compliance posture.

With a scalable, cloud‑based ERP foundation and standardized enterprise processes in place, the organization is now well positioned to support global growth, onboard new entities more efficiently, and sustain continuous improvement initiatives while reducing operational overhead and system complexity.
