February 24, 2016 : The 17th Annual TechPoint Mira Awards Honor ‘The Best of Tech in Indiana'
Indianapolis, IN ? February 24, 2016 ? TechPoint announced Appirio as a finalist for "Tech Company of the Year," one of 14 categories comprising TechPoint's 17th Annual Mira Awards. The event promotes technological innovation in the state of Indiana by identifying and honoring some of the best local technology companies.
Appirio first opened its Indianapolis office in 2012. Since that time, the company has invested heavily in recruiting and hiring Indianapolis-area talent, growing its headcount from 20 to more than 150 local employees. Appirio's Ascend Program is dedicated to bringing in top-notch talent from colleges and universities around the state and putting them on a path to grow into next generation leaders.
In 2015, Appirio selected Indianapolis as its official headquarters. As part of its future growth plans, Appirio has a goal of employing up to 577 Hoosiers by 2020, with average salaries more than 75 percent higher than the state's average wage. The company also recently renovated and moved into an additional floor at the Pan American Office Tower in downtown Indianapolis, doubling its footprint to 25,000 square feet.
Most recently, Appirio announced a partnership with High Alpha, a venture studio based in Indianapolis. The agreement provides High Alpha with the ability to use Appirio's deep services capabilities, cloud expertise, and its Topcoder crowdsourcing community in order to help speed the development of next-generation enterprise cloud companies. The partnership also enables Appirians to work with innovative entrepreneurs tackling important real-world challenges, while also providing customers with tailored cloud services.
