June 29, 2015 : Appirio Implements Salesforce NGO Connect to Maximize and Support LLS's Impact in Cancer Arena
SAN FRANCISCO – June 29, 2015 – Appirio, a leading global cloud services company, today announced that it will help the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) implement Salesforce NGO Connect and Salesforce Sales Cloud, replacing an outdated and costly in-house system with one centralized cloud solution. The goal of the partnership is to enhance the organization's Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) capabilities and improve its fundraising and patient services capabilities.
Built on the Salesforce1 Platform and designed for nonprofit organizations, NGO Connect and Salesforce Sales Cloud offer the tools LLS needs to improve a range of functions, from donor management to volunteer management and marketing. With Appirio's support, LLS will revisit its current operational processes, examine areas for improvement and establish a new system to help the organization run more effectively. Beginning with the technical assessment phase, the next stage of the Salesforce implementation process includes transitioning the organization's Patient Access Portal and Information Resource Center to improve patient case management capabilities. The project will continue with additional integration steps to improve other business processes, such as streamlining online registration for patients.
"We are very excited Appirio and Salesforce are helping us better connect with the LLS community," said Claude Edkins, senior vice president and chief information officer at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. "This CRM update is a key element of transformation on so many fronts that will help us improve our overall efficiency and business processes. But most importantly, it allows us to remain laser focused on our mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and improve the quality of life for patients and their families."
Approximately every three minutes someone in the United States is diagnosed with a blood cancer. In 2014 alone, an estimated combined total of 156,420 people were projected to be diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma [1]. With this new technology, LLS is enhancing its ability to dedicate more energy and resources towards accomplishing its goal to find blood cancer cures and ensure patients have access to lifesaving treatments. The transition to the Salesforce Customer Success Platform will enable a number of positive changes for the organization, including:
Improved capabilities to capture all constituent interactions such as donations, calls to the Information Resource Center and patient interactions.
The ability to connect volunteers and donors to the overall mission of LLS by providing current information about their relationship to the organization.
The addition of real-time visibility into internal operations through high-end data and analytics capabilities.
Access to social communities and platforms for partners, researchers and other key constituents to interact and communicate about different initiatives.
Administration of social media monitoring and engagement tools to enhance the digital media presence of LLS.
"The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is dedicated to investing in research to advance lifesaving treatments and cures," said co-founder and senior vice president of Appirio, Mike O'Brien. "In addition to rallying our associates to support LLS, we are honored to be able to offer our skills and expertise so that the organization can focus on its work, using the most advanced technology to support its relationships with donors, patients, partners and researchers."
