April 15, 2009 : SAN MATEO, CA.?April 15, 2009?Appirio (www.appirio.com), a leading cloud computing products and professional services company, today announced two new executive team members who bring decades of experience managing and growing large enterprise software companies. Dave Orrico, who in the last 20 years has helped shape enterprise sales teams at salesforce.com, Siebel and Oracle, has joined Appirio as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Jim Emerich, who brings 18 years of finance experience in various high growth companies, will join Appirio on May 4 as Chief Financial Officer.
Both Orrico and Emerich played key roles at salesforce.com, helping it become the first enterprise cloud computing company to reach one billion dollars in revenue. Orrico was formerly Executive Vice President of North America at salesforce.com where he ran U.S. operations, including field sales, inside sales, alliances and professional services. He was also responsible for forming the company's vertical strategy, and nurturing business relationships with eight of salesforce.com's top 10 customers. At Appirio, he will be responsible for growing Appirio's enterprise business in the U.S. and internationally.
Emerich held a number of positions in his six-year tenure at salesforce.com, including Senior Vice President of Internal Audit, Chief Accounting Officer, interim Chief Financial Officer and head of its Tax and Treasury departments. Emerich left salesforce.com in August 2007 to become CFO at MuleSource, a provider of open source service-oriented architecture (SOA) infrastructure software. At Appirio, Emerich will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations for the company, with an initial focus on implementing the necessary accounting, finance and reporting processes to support Appirio's continued growth. Appirio saw year over year revenue increase almost 400 percent in 2008, and nearly 500 percent in 2007.
