Wipro Limited (NYSE: WIT, BSE: 507685, NSE: WIPRO), a leading global information technology, consulting and business process services company, announced its new membership with the Autoware Foundation, the largest autonomous driving open source community. This new relationship will further Wipro’s work for co-solutioning in the self-driving technology space alongside brilliant minds within the industry, academia and technology disruptors.

This membership will strategically drive Wipro’s work in the autonomous driving industry forward, helping the organization not only provide even higher levels of expertise to clients seeking to adopt and leverage the field’s emerging technologies but also creating a collaborative environment that will accelerate the growth of the industry overall.

The Autoware Foundation has three main projects: Autoware.Auto, Autoware.AI and Autoware.IO. Members of the foundation span technology tiers including semiconductor technology companies, mobility service providers, autonomous driving technology disruptors, AI software providers and sensor manufacturers. Working closely with individuals across the value chain will create synergy and standardization, accelerating the development of these technologies. Wipro will contribute by influencing the strategic direction of this group, co-building solutions, and serving as a GTM partner for the Autoware Foundation.

The Wipro Autonomous Systems and Robotics group spearheaded this engagement to further their “growing together” vision for autonomous technology. Wipro, along with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), is the founding member for India’s leading consortium on Autonomous systems and Robotics, the Wipro IISc Research and Innovation Network (WIRIN). This group collaboratively focuses on solving cutting-edge technology problems considered bottlenecks for the industry.

Through all of these collaborations, Wipro’s clientele will have access to self-driving technology solutions that are developed by the industry’s brightest minds.
