One of Europe’s largest retail chains wanted to transform its finance and merchandising processes to support its rapid growth. The retailer sought to develop a future-ready architecture and a scalable, agile system that would streamline its processes so staff could spend less time on manual tasks and more time creating a superior customer experience.

Wipro implemented Oracle ERP/EPM Cloud and Oracle Retail Cloud to establish a robust, scalable platform as the backbone for process simplification. Guided by Wipro’s Zoom to Cloud methodology, the retailer rapidly rolled-out and localized the system across 16 countries, 1,000+ stores and 10,000+ employees, including integrated financial and ops planning and a “closed -loop merchandizing” solution for better analytics. Meanwhile, well-defined Oracle Cloud Architecture principles supported seamless integration between ERP and other subsystems and data handling, security and disaster recovery, and demand management.
The retailer’s modernized system provided the agility and future-readiness the European leader had envisioned. The company’s capacity to onboard new stores had increased to 100 stores per week and reduced shipping times by 30%, as new data insights brought operational efficiencies and enabled more-informed decision making. Furthermore, increased automation reduced manual processes and reduced internal complexities, empowering employees to a focus on creating a better customer experience.
