Novartis Foundation Cardio4Cities Simulator: Supporting data-informed cardiovascular health planning in cities
Cardiovascular disease remains the world’s leading cause of death, yet city leaders often lack tools to evaluate interventions and plan effectively. To address this, the Novartis Foundation partnered with Wipro to create a scalable AI-powered simulator that helps policymakers’ model cardiovascular interventions using local data and generate clear, evidence-based insights.
The cloud-based platform, hosted on Microsoft Azure, combines a validated simulation model with an intuitive web-based interface and embedded GenAi capabilities. It allows cities to transform complex simulations into intuitive visualizations, enabling them to assess health and economic impact, optimize interventions, and scale solutions globally. Already deployed in cities such as São Paulo, CARDIO4Cities is helping policymakers design targeted, equitable, and sustainable cardiovascular health outcomes.
