IPTV Impact on Fulfillment, Assurance, and Billing (FAB) TeleManagement Forum Catalyst Project: TMW Nice 2006

Our IPTV initiative
IPTV, wireless and high speed broadband offer the technologies and platform to enrich the customer experience by providing customized and interactive services and to therefore fulfill the vision of providing “content” to any and all of a consumer’s devices: their wireless PDA/cellphone, their computer, their television. Consumers view this “convergence” as extremely convenient because it offers more selection, greater flexibility and improved convenience for entertainment, shopping and communication, not least as a result of having access to a single “dashboard” controlling all of the above.

In order to achieve the above, there is a need to ensure that the OSS/BSS are adapted to support the convergence of the devices and engage with third party “content providers” allowing access so that they can deliver their own media to end customers via the Operator’s network

Read how Wipro engaged with SwissCom on demonstrating an interactive IPTV service and its impact on a FAB (Fulfillment, Assurance, and Billing) process using the Microsoft platform. The demo also evaluated the usage of NGOSS and SOA to allow a Telco Operator to efficiently make the necessary adaptations.
