After excitement of the SF Marathon, we are thrilled to announce that our partnership with the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 2011 held on Sunday, 18th September was a grand success. This one of a kind initiative saw us as the official technology partner for the biggest marathon in Australia! Truly a representation of our ‘winning spirit' legacy! 35,000 enthusiastic participants ran the course across the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge before finishing at the Australia's pride, the Opera House.
The icing on the cake was the visit of cricketing legends Glenn McGrath and Adam Gilchrist to our marquee at the recovery village. Truly an unforgettable moment for the thousands of cricket fans and Wipro employees! The Blackmore Recovery Village was located at the Royal Botanical Gardens and featured exciting entertainment, sponsor gifts and some warm hospitality after the race. Wipro's marquee at the village had a breath-taking view of the Sydney Harbour and the stunning façade of the Opera House. The marquee was a perfect retreat after the race for our exhausted employees, customers and guests.

The festival was truly a great success as reflected by the 3.66 lakh impressions, 669 visit, 1,55,713 post views on Facebook and 2,70,000+ impressions on Twitter received by the ad campaign. We do hope to replicate the resounding success of this event in the future too. We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the employees and participants for their tremendous support and dedication that played such a large role in the success of the festival. Rahul has over 13 years in the brand management and communications space. He is currently responsible for the strategy and execution of Wipro?s global field marketing, brand and communications program. He has been with Wipro for over 6 years and has held various leadership roles within the strategic marketing function. Rahul has been directly responsible for developing Wipro's field marketing strategy and has been instrumental in setting up the program across geographies globally and helped successfully launch and manage key initiatives under the program.
Rahul joined Wipro from Ogilvy & Mather where he was part of the account management team and was responsible for managing large national and regional brands. He spent close to 10 years in the brand management and communications space before joining Wipro, working with multi-national communication agencies and on several global brands.
Rahul completed his Bachelor?s in Commerce from Loyola College, Chennai, India and also has a post-graduate Diploma in Advertising.
