Wipro Technologies and Knowledge@Wharton teamed up to conduct a global 'Innovation Tournament', based on the newly released book, Innovation Tournaments, by Wharton professors Karl Ulrich and Christian Terwiesch. The tournament was designed to identify the most innovative managerial 'tools' (a method, approach, template, process or software), to help companies improve their business by increasing efficiencies, cutting costs and/or streamlining operations and improving customer experience.
This was a one of its kind brain-sourcing competition for industry & academia across the world. The participants had to first submit their ideas to a panel of experts, including key members of the Wharton faculty, the Knowledge@Wharton team and the Wipro Council for Industry Research. The tournament received an overwhelming response with over 150 nominations coming in from across the globe.
A live webinar hosted by Wipro Technologies and Knowledge@Wharton gave 25 tool innovators a chance to present their innovations. Of these, 10 were selected as finalists. These 10 finalists will now present their ideas at a live event at Wharton, on the University of Pennsylvania's campus on March 23, 2010.
