Deepam has over 20 years of experience in building technology startups and leading corporate innovation. Deepam currently manages the New Age Business at Wipro (an NYSE listed, global top-5, GSI) that partners with late-stage ventures to help them scale faster, including some of the leading pre-IPO and recent IPO companies.
Deepam started his career at Stanford Research International (SRI) as a computer vision scientist and later was the VP of the New Ventures. At SRI, Deepam built many successfully exited start-ups in areas such as Banking (Sensar - iris-biometrics), Autonomous Vehicles (vision sensing) and Drones (PVT – drone surveillance). After leaving SRI, Deepam founded The Venture Factory – an early-stage VC firm, that helped create pioneering solutions for waste-to-energy, logistics and infrastructure.
Deepam has a B. Tech from IIT Kanpur and an MBA from the Wharton School. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications and has over 5 granted US patents. His commercialization work has been recognized by IEEE (Most Influential Paper of the Decade). In his spare time, Deepam is an innovation junkie and builds / funds many innovative products.
