“Time will change, so will technology and with that, man”. While the power of technology grows, the importance of testing cannot be undermined. Testing as a practice has moved from playing a cost centric role to that of a mandate. Past failures have made companies realize the strategic importance of testing and its contribution to quality. Testing is a $90 billion market today and is set to grow over the years.

Every few decades, technology advancements transform computing devices. From personal computers and mobile phones we are moving to Google Glass. Soon, we will also move from gesture and voice control to interacting with these devices by just thinking! This advancement coming along with affordability has given rise to a new phenomenon – the consumerization of technology. Computing devices have become more personal.

At the end of 2009, global retail sales stood at a whopping 13,900 billions of dollars according to EIU. But did you know that retailers have also incurred millions of dollars in losses every year due to the lack of foresight and poor business strategies thus adversely impacting their sales margins? Could this have been avoided with better forecasting and intelligent analytics tools?

We are delighted to have won two prestigious Consumer Goods Technology (CGT) Reader’s Choice Awards for 2011. Wipro has been listed in the Top 10 of the awards for Outsourcing/ IT Integration and for Consulting, showing strong movement between 2010 and 2011. In 2011, we were listed in the CGT Reader’s Choice Awards for Outsourcing/ IT Integration at # 5 (up from #9 position). In addition, we are in the Top 10 in the Consulting category. If the awards are anything to go by, we have not stood still over the last year.
