Performance analysis of wipro's spatial reuse protocol
Abstract
Resilient Packet Ring is a very high speed, MAC layer protocol for use in the ringbased Local, Metropolitan and Wide Area Networks for transfer of data frames at rates scalable to multiple gigabits per second. Resilient Packet ring exploits the benefits of ring topology and is also easy to use with Ethernet and SONET technologies. This paper presents performance analysis of the distributed Fairness Algorithm (FA) according to Spatial Reuse Protocol (SRP) in RFC 2892. Performance analysis report of FA based on tests executed using the OMNet++ simulator shows very high bandwidth utilization with fair share of ring and consistent end-to-end delay of packets.
