Assessments – An objective indicator of the effectiveness of training/learning
Abstract Change being the only constant factor in the IT world, the greatest challenge for IT organizations today is not just to ensure that learning happens but also to keep its workforce updated from time to time on their knowledge levels. An appraisal of skill levels prior to and after a program is becoming essential to conduct effective trainings. With a booming global economy, every organization, right from new enterprises to well established ones are into a recruitment spree. The role of assessments, therefore, is becoming even more important as the workforce needs to undergo trainings - a pre-assessment would tell us what kind of training is required and a post assessment tells us the change in knowledge level post training. Assessments, in general, help corporations by providing an update on where individuals stand, where teams stand and where the organization as a whole stands.
This white paper explores how trainers can use assessments to improve the quality of training; explains the processes that need to be set up to ensure the quality of assessments; and elaborates on business benefits of investing on assessments.
