Abstract
A whole host of companies, have converged on the space, providing a range of enabling products, services and standards in the realm of the wireless. A few early adopters like the banks, financial services firms, media and entertainment companies have got global newswires humming with word on wireless access for their services. More innovative companies have sprung up offering totally new services like location services enabled by the wireless and interactive media. The wireless IPO is the new darling of the stock markets. The beginning of wireless technology for purposes of our discussion can be thought as the adoption of devices like mobiles, PDAs and interactive phones. Given the increasing usage and acceptance of wireless devices new usages have come up. But the question is how does one design, develop and deploy this new technology as an amalgam of the large existing e-business leaders, wireless innovators, wireless start-ups and other players comprise the front runners in this industry.
