Changing traditions - Offshoring SAP BW implementations

Abstract
Data warehousing and business intelligence implementations are generally perceived to be more challenging in terms of offshoring. These projects are complex in terms of requirement specifications and require close customer interaction.

This white paper discusses how these challenges can be negated and how certain components in a business warehouse implementation can be offshored with manageable risks. It discusses the extent to which one can offshore, depending upon the structuring option chosen, the type of project, scale of engagement and various other factors. It also looks at the risks involved and the ways to mitigate them as well as the main driver for offshoring, the cost benefits accrued.
