In-flight entertainment
Abstract The growing passengers' demand for more choices in entertainment coupled with the increase in competition has led airline services to consider In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) services in their focus on marketing and customer care. IFE offers many passenger benefits and involves diverse areas like digital entertainment distribution, marketing, computer technology and satellite communications to name a few.
This paper studies some of the key components of a typical IFE System, the technology needed to address the requirements, the key providers of such technology and the future technological requirements for this domain. This paper concludes with a description of an IFE prototype that was developed by Wipro Technologies for study and demonstration purposes.
