Digital watermarking: A technology overview
Abstract
Digital Rights Management (DRM) systems play a critical role in describing, identifying, trading, protecting, monitoring and tracking the Intellectual Property (IP) rights of digital multimedia content distributed on the Internet. Digital watermarking techniques can be used in DRM systems for establishing ownership rights, tracking usage, ensuring authorized access, preventing illegal replication and facilitating content authentication. This paper gives a brief introduction to digital watermarking technology.
