EAI in small-medium enterprises (A case-analysis)
Abstract
Almost all enterprises, small, medium and large, look to the Internet to streamline communication and/or to reduce cost with the business partners. At the same time they want to ensure that the system is secure, reliable and can be implemented with very little downtime. By continuously evolving, successful business can grow more rapidly and effectively. This would mean that these organizations must make effective changes in the way they transact and expand their business in order to maintain their position of strength. Rapid growth of B2B and B2C e-commerce has created a demand for the comprehensive integration of small-scale enterprises with other enterprises. However, SMEs cannot, or do not want to invest in the off the shelf (OTS) software available, primarily, because they have specific requirements and are not after full-blown EAI solutions. They require largely customizable solutions. In this white paper we explore in depth a messaging channel implementation, the framework, architecture and deployment issues by taking a case-inpoint, i.e. our learnings from one such integration for a small medium enterprise.
