Wipro's FireFly™ Platform
Wipro's FireFly™ is a stand-alone platform
for verification, evaluation and demonstration
of Wipro's IP solutions. It includes one Xilinx
Virtex™-II FPGA and one Altera Excalibur™
FPGA, interconnected by an on-board AHB bus. It
also contains an ARM922T™ 32-bit RISC processor
core, that can be run at 150MHz, as an ASSP within
the Altera Excalibur™ FPGA.
Wireless LAN on FireFly™ includes Wipro's
802.11multimode MAC and 802.11a/b/g Baseband IP
cores in FPGAs. It is connected to a third-party
radio module and demonstrates all the data rates
of 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g. The MAC Core
supports at-speed QOS (802.11e/WME), security
(802.11i/WPA), dynamic channel selection and transmit
power control (802.11h) and inter access point
protocol (802.11f) functionalities. Wipro's 802.11
a/b/g Baseband IP fitted in FPGA and third-party
RF module are connected to the FireFly™
platform as daughter boards through the expansion
connector.
