is TL1? Where is it used?
TL1 is a ASCII based man machine management protocol
deployed in broad band and access networks, including
SONET networks. It stands for Transaction Language
One.
TL1 is mainly used for Managing Network elements
from external Operation Support system to perform
Surveillance, memory administration, access and
testing.

do I start the TL1 Syntax tester?
- Install the TL1 Syntax Tester first as specified
in User Manual.
- Specify I/P address, port number and Type
of encoding for TCP/IP communication with NE
to be tested.
- Ensure NE is running.
- Start TL1 Tester
Is
initial customization required before installing
the tool?
Very minimum customization may be required. This
will be necessary only if your TL1 implementation
differs from Telecordia’s GR831 standards.

Features
of the tester do not work as expected, why is
it so?
Since this is a 15 day
evaluation copy, some features may not be enabled
completely. These will however be available in
the commercial copy of the tool.
