The challenge

Keeping in view the importance of the IT infrastructure in their operations, the client opted to have a proactive audit and assessment study of their network. Wipro was asked to do an audit at their head quarters and branch offices to review the vulnerabilities in infrastructure components like operating systems (Both NT & UNIX), firewalls, routers and switches.

The solution

Wipro used ISS Internet and system scanners to do vulnerability scanning of different servers and network equipments. In addition to vulnerability assessment and fixing, recommendations were given to improve security of various components of the infrastructure like the servers, network equipment etc. by adopting good physical security and implementing a better password policy.
