The Licensing and Compliance division of a premier, global financial services firm needed a system that would automate and streamline its activities. Find out how our Licensing Information System helped the division raise productivity, speed up response time and lower costs

The client

Based in Delaware, our client is a subsidiary of a premier, global financial services firm headquartered in New York. The holding company combines the best of commercial and investment banking, offers world-class information and processing services and has a leading US consumer franchise serves 32 million customers.

The business challenge

Our client's Licensing and Compliance division managed close to four thousand agents, employed by eight different agencies. All activities of this division were semi-manual except for the use of some office tools. Given the rising market demand for value addition and quality customer service, it was a situation that couldn't continue. A system was needed that would make operations faster, cheaper and more accurate. Decisions needed to be made quickly and the system had to provide the necessary information in a simple, easy-to-access manner.

The solution

We worked closely with our client to set up a comprehensive Licensing Information System (LIS). The objective was to put in place a system that would would allow the entire Agent Compliance / Licensing business to be managed efficiently and optimize resource utilization. This started with the process of studying the business, understanding requirements and identifying re-engineering needs. Our team then designed, developed and implemented a modular LIS that could be used for information capture, tracking and reporting.

LIS's target users included people involved in Insurance Agency Licensing, compliance, training, operations and call center. The system was installed at all their offices and could be accessed by all Agent Licensing executives. Different modules were designed for agents, agencies, state information, reporting capabilities and system administration.

Currently, LIS has a user base of fifty-nine users distributed across eight locations. By minimizing manual labor and allowing them easy access to error-free information, it has significantly enhanced productivity. The benefits of this will be manifested in multiple ways across the business.
