The client used a stand-alone customer registry system which had to be manually maintained and contained details on top 600 customers per time zone. They desired a system that would integrate external as well as internal applications with the Global Customer Registry (GCR) and provide an ability to report on any customer's activity across divisions and geographies.

Wipro developed GCR as a 3-tier web application using Sun one architecture. The project involved providing an interface from the GCR system to an external system. It also required an in- depth knowledge of the data cleansing tool (Trillium) which was used to integrate the GCR System with a 3rd party system. The GCR System was designed to simplify the process of gathering information about customers and provide a trusted source for the core customer data, through assignment of a global customer and address identifier in key customer facing systems.
