The organization had multiple disparate third party applications and few processes were performed manually, whereas third party application tools managed others. They had PeopleSoft 8.x at the backend and BEA Weblogic Portal at the front end with Oblix as the security framework. i-Desk had to leverage this infrastructure while providing the customized functionality.

Wipro's techno-functional team conducted an assessment study at the client's location and realized the need to integrate the applications, while ensuring availability of similar and enhanced functionality, as required. It was proposed that i-Desk, Wipro's B2E framework could provide the required solution and could be easily customized to provide additional functionality. i-Desk integrates seamlessly with the existing BEA portal at the front-end, PeopleSoft 8.x at the backend and other third party applications. The framework was based on open and extensible standards, so as to adapt to future business and technology developments. The system will integrate and automate most of the third party applications. The implementation will streamline the existing business processes by web-enabling them.
