upgrade: Objective of this would
be to perform a tools and applications upgrade
involving analysis and re-application of
customizations in the newer version. Suitable
for organizations where customizations are
minimal, and the primary reasons for the
upgrade is to maintain support from the
vendor with constraints on time and investment.

upgrade: Suitable for organizations
with highly complex and customized environments
and with an intention to take advantage
of new functionality, to reduce customizations
(move closer to Vanilla). This “Do
it right” approach would involve a
Gap- Fit analysis phase where customizations
can be compared with the new delivered functionality,
Conference room pilots are adopted to highlight
the new delivered functionality to the users
and a design and extensive testing is followed
to deliver a superior product at the end

Archival
& purge services: Added functionalities
and flexibility in newer versions means steep
growth in transactional data volume and hence
archival and purge services becomes very critical
to limit the size of database and also sustain
the performance of application. |
