System performance as a significant customer
requirement was well addressed by Wipro with good
database design and optimized code. Wipro had
full life cycle involvement with development handled
totally offshore. This pilot project amply demonstrated
our offshore execution resulting in the subsequent
offshore activity and a sustained savings model
for the client's IT investments.
The key technology used for development included
Oracle Applications 10.7 - PO and Inventory -
and tools like Oracle 7.3.4, PL/SQL, Unix - Shell.
The key feature of the Wipro execution was a well-defined
roadmap for offshoring, starting with a pilot
project to demonstrate concept, followed by full-fledged
adoption. Further a single source partner for
different IT initiatives we were able to reduce
drastically learning time and integration efforts.
