The idea
Reduce total cost of ownership of client’s mission critical applications.
 
The client
A Global Fortune 500 company, the client is a financial services behemoth and boasts of nearly 50 million customer accounts and managed loans totaling $83.0 bn.
 
The business challenge
Over the years of growth each of the client's business units developed own style of working. This necessitated the integration of these units and standardization of disparate processes across the organization using PeopleSoft. Owing to the complexity of client processes and high level of analytical needs, the entire project would entail a significant amount of customization to be built upon any off-the-shelf application. The client was also looking at this initiative as an opportunity to analyze its business processes to bring about process improvements and having an partner looking after maintenance and support of IT applications.
 
The solution
Wipro assumed the total ownership of client’s PeopleSoft applications including financials and HRMS. A snapshot of the engagement follows:
Upgrade of PeopleSoft financials from version 8.0 to version 8.8
Implementation of eModules namely ePerformance and eCompensation
Validation of PeopleSoft EPM implementation
Ongoing support of PeopleSoft HRMS 8.8, SCM 8.8 SP1, Financials 8.8 SP1 and EPM 8.8

All the implementations and upgrades were carried out in record time, giving due considerations to the customizations involved. Wipro is currently engaged in Level 3 support of client’s HRMS, Financial Applications and EPM using the global delivery model.
