Abstract
This document describes XML and web technologies and their application to network management. The specific focus of the discussion is the ways and means to provide XML based interfaces to network elements that are currently being configured and managed through CLI and SNMP.

The application of Wipro’s XML based network management framework for rapidly enabling existing network elements with XML interfaces is discussed. Wipro’s XML based network management framework helps OEM Vendors achieve faster integration and lower costs while providing programmable XML interfaces for their network elements.
