| Abstract
This whitepaper looks at putting together an application
framework for enterprise finance function in a product
and technology agnostic manner. The boundaries for the
finance function are primarily driven by the enterprise
management aspects in the area of Finance. The framework
essentially takes a component modeling approach to define
the application support that is required in the various
areas of the Finance Function.
The components are interwoven in a
layered framework focusing on the Technology backbone,
Core Applications, Advanced functionality layer and
the Reporting layer. A component based approach to building
the framework also makes it amenable to upgrade and
reconfiguration as the business and technology environment
changes.
