Managing the supply chain is not getting any easier.
Major reasons being increased outsourcing, shorter product
lifecycle, proliferation of products varieties and heightened
customer expectations. The challenge of coordinating
effectively with the entire supply chain for balancing
the supply and demand thereby reducing cost has become
increasingly important. Many firms have discovered the
magnitude of savings that can be achieved by planning
and managing their supply chain effectively.
This whitepaper discusses the demand-driven
collaborative supply chain (DDSC) concepts and its need
for fulfilling true customer demand by responding quickly
to demand changes. This paper also discusses the three
design principles, benefits and challenges for implementing
DDSC in an enterprise.
