Abstract
The Customer Information System (CIS) in a utility is
architected as a transactional system and is not well
suited for conducting analysis on the data captured.
In today’s business environment, utilities need
more intelligent information to stay competitive as
well as to comply with regulatory directives and legislations.
They also need a single view of the customer across
various dimensions. Most product offerings do not meet
the unique needs of utilities. This necessitated a customer
analytics solution that is built around the information
needs of business users in a utility.
