| Abstract
Business Rules Engine (BRE) is one of the most critical
components of a Business Process Management Solution.
It plays a significant role in the creation of agile
business processes, implementation of the business logic
involved in a process and enforcement of business rules
and regulation. It helps in capturing changes within
a process easily, thereby reducing the downtime for
implementing the changes to the business logic.
This paper explains the importance of business rules
engine in the context of Business Process Management
(BPM) keeping in mind readers interested in understanding
the importance of rules in a business process. Flow-briX.NET
BRE is taken as a case in point to explain its fitment
in Flow-briX.NET BPM framework.
