The last decade has witnessed tremendous changes in the telecommunications space. The existing wireline networks have been upstaged in terms of growth by other alternate networks - cable, DSL and wireless. This decade also experienced the voice data convergence which is now transforming into a voice-data-video convergence. The presentation outlines the challenges for Billing due to growth in wireless communication and voice-data convergence. It details the impact of this emergence on the different components of a Billing System and the interfacing OSS / BSS applications. It prescribes the road ahead and key steps that should be taken in Billing to counter these challenges.
