Renner is one of the biggest fashion retailers in Brazil and is owned by a group of more than 900 shareholders, after being sold by US retail giant, J. C. Penney in 2005. With 66 stores in the major Brazilian cities, Renner employs over 6,000 people and registered a turnover of R$ 1,136.4 million in 2005.
Up to 2010, Renner plans to grow by 50% and will open more than 30 new stores, a move that will bring new challenges in terms of logistics and meeting customer demand.
Enabler was chosen as integrator for major projects including Oracle Retail merchandise management, data warehousing, sales audit, merchandise allocation and enterprise application integration. Projects highlights included the world’s first implementation of Retek (now Oracle Retail) on the Linux operating system. Enabler also managed the entire implementation in under a year, from conference room pilot to go-live.
Enabler handled all the change management issues, by ensuring the whole organisation, including the board, was involved and supporting the implementation. This resulted in the introduction of new working practices throughout the company in a relatively short period of time.
