The client desired to
be assessed at CMM Level 2 maturity by the end of the
year. With this objective, the client was working on implementing
CMM Level 2 compliant processes across the organization
using the recommendations of an earlier mini assessment.
However, the client found implementing the recommendations
around the requirements management and configuration management
KPAs (key process areas) a challenge. The client had a
R&D and design centric culture and found the implementation
of quality processes one of the major challenges. An absence
of a centralized process engineering / quality group,
made the challenge even bigger.
Solution
The team of Wipro consultants
studied all the key process areas (KPAs) and identified
actionables to ensure that all KPAs were compliant to
CMM Level 2. The specific pain areas identified by the
client were addressed and new processes defined to address
the same. Necessary training and mentoring was also provided
to the process action team members and workshops help
to aid in proper implementation of processes and ensure
level 2 compliancy.
