The client
The client is a Fortune
500 company, a leading Automobile manufacturer. Wipro's
scope of consulting is for their European IS&S operations.
The business challenge
The client had a complex
system delivery environment with no ownership to drive
process improvement across projects. Projects were run
on individual heroics with inconsistent work product creation
and unpredictable processes. Projects were implemented
in isolation and the senior management did not have clear
visibility across the projects.
The solution
Using the CMMI framework,
the Wipro consultants defined organizational policies
to kick start improvements. CMMI workshops were conducted
to create buy-in from executioner groups. A periodic metrics
collection and reporting system was also established.
Project tracking systems were created and regular reports
on project compliance were sent to senior management to
take actions on weak areas. The Wipro team helped the
client to assess suppliers' QA processes through supplier
assessments. The Wipro team facilitated CMMI committee
formation to drive and monitor process compliance.
