The business challenge

While the client had investments in quality initiatives and metrics in place, loosely coupled team with no rigor in measurement and skew to measuring service levels as against software development and project delivery led to unclear RoI.

The client approached Wipro to:
Create a framework for the entire quality program with defined quality processes and metrics in place to measure RoI
Decide on the structure of the quality teams so that quality initiatives gain visibility
Lay out metrics that go beyond service levels to monitor and measure software development and project-level delivery performance to set a continuous improvement program
 
The solution
The Wipro team assessed the client's IT quality practices (processes and metrics) in order to identify both inconsistencies in implementation and gaps with respect to Wipro's best practices. Wipro team then identified 21 opportunities for improvement (OFIs) grouped into three categories: process improvements, metrics improvements and organization improvements These OFIs were then prioritized and a few that will yield quick wins were implemented.
