Industrial Automation Framework
Wipro has evolved components that fit into architecture for developing IAC applications.

Flow-briX - Workflow Management Tool
Workflow management is core to functionality of this system for both repairs, as well as for the diagnostics / equipment troubleshooting, transmission of alarms to appropriate escalation levels, plan management and so on.

To meet these requirements, Wipro’s Flow-briX provides industry-standards based workflow solution between various equipments and between equipment and humans. In addition, Flow-briX also provides an end-to-end Business Rules management solution to bring in flexible Control Logic management.

Advantages of Flow-briX are:
  • Reduced development cost & accelerated delivery schedule in building the solution
  • Providing many difficult-to-develop advanced features
  • Providing time-tested, reliable solution for critical application
  • Flexibility in modifying the solution to newer requirements over time
  • Providing middleware to integrate different applications

i-Desk (MES) Framework
Wipro's i-Desk framework is a collection of services which are categorized as core services, infrastructure services and functional services. These services together or in pieces address an organization’s self-service and collaboration initiatives. i-Desk helps organizations to expedite the process of building and deploying point solutions specific to industry. i-Desk framework has already proved beneficial to domains like HR, government and manufacturing. i-Desk is used as configurable Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for companies looking to prepare their factories for growth into make-to-order, lean or collaborative manufacturing strategies.

i-Desk has an n-tier, service based architecture, forming a framework of loosely coupled point solutions. The framework is actually a collection of infrastructure and functional services, core utilities, screens, presentation, data access and communication API and interfaces to various industry standards.

The framework is designed in such a way that it can be easily configured to address the requirements specific to industry for which it is used.

WiproCheck Code Compliance Test Automation Tool
  • Analyses source code to verify whether defined coding standards have been followed. Some sample coding standards are : MISRA-C1998, DO178B
  • Currently supports rule base of 147, can be extended to support more in any coding standard
  • Supports JAVA-based GUI as well as a command line interface for Windows XP, Windows 2000, Sun Solaris and Linux
  • Deployed successfully by an automobile major and an airline manufacturer
Customizable Rules Database
The WiproCheck rules database is customizable to specific industry needs.

Rules databases Exist for:
  • Automotive industry (MISRA)
  • Avionics industry (DO 178B)
Source Code Licensing Available

OCFX - Control System Framework
Wipro has evolved a common OCFX architecture for developing IAC applications. The Open Control Framework (OCFX) has been developed as a core framework which can be used for developing various applications like SCADA, batch, process simulation, etc. The framework is scalable and it can be used for providing solutions ranging from fieldbus layer to the supervisory layer.

Knowledge Blocks

Wipro has developed various knowledge blocks in IAC related technologies. Some of these knowledge blocks are:

BatchLite
BatchLite is a batch control management suite. This provides tools like recipe management, equipment editor, display builder, tag editor in one suite to develop batch control applications for various industries like steel, petrochemical, glass, cement, paper, pharmaceutical, food processing, etc. BatchLite supports batch standard SP88 and OPC interface.

OPC Client Application Toolkit
This tool kit helps to develop OPC client applications for different OPC servers. The developer can quickly develop OPC client application with this tool, without having any in-depth knowledge of OPC or COM internal. This is useful for getting time to market advantage.

Download OPC toolkit.

XML2OPC
The XML2OPC adaptor enables web-based applications to remotely control and monitor the status and parameters of various field equipment and devices like flow meters, analyzers, recorders, valves, pumps, etc. using the OPC. This adaptor provides connectivity to field devices using SOAP-XML over HTTP.

Fieldbus Application Toolkit
This tool kit helps develop the Fieldbus applications for different field-buses like DeviceNet, CANOpen and SDS etc. The developer can quickly develop master / slave applications with this tool, without having the in-depth knowledge of Fieldbus protocol internal. This is also useful in simulation and testing of application for various fieldbus devices without actual fieldbus and devices connected.

Mini-Control Builder (Micon)
The Micon builder is used for developing control logic to control and monitor a process plant. This is based on IEC-61499. This helps the control system engineer in developing control applications using function blocks, adhering to IEC-61499 standard, like PID, logical blocks, IO block, etc.

Modbus ActiveX Master
The Modbus ActiveX Master is an ActiveX control which can be used to communicate with Modbus slave devices. This relieves the application developers from protocol and communication specific details. Applications can be developed in C++ as well as Visual Basic or with any ActiveX enabled IDE (Integrated Development Environment). Download Modbus X blaster
