ISDB-T Stack
Wipro offers ARIB standards compliant ISDB-T stack to its customers to address the growing demand for feature rich Digital TVs in challenging Japanese market. Wipro’s ISDB-T Stack is designed to support ISDB-T (1 Segment & 13 Segment) and ISDB-TSB. Implementation can be configured to initialize only those portions of the code base required to access tables and descriptors specific to the broadcast standard being supported. Supports both Standard and High definition (HD) displays subject to the capability of the underlying hardware. The stacks are modular and come with the necessary abstraction layers for easy porting across operating systems and hardware platforms. Also the stacks are provided with well documented Porting/Integration guide and API documentation.

Wipro’s DVB stack has the following core components
- MPEG–SI Parser
- Provides parsing services for specific SI tables defined in the MPEG-2 transport standard (ISO/IEC 13818-1).
- Supports only the tables and descriptors defined for transport streams in the original MPEG standard.
- ARIB–SI Parser
- The ARIB B10 standard specifies the Service Information (SI) data which forms a part of the DTV bit stream.
- Provides the user with information to assist in selecting the available services, and enables a receiver to automatically configure itself for the selected service.
- SI Database and Data base engine
- Maintains service details like tuning parameters, favorite status, and channel lock status, etc.
- Store the data related to network , services and events
- Operations of the database such as adding, updating, sorting etc
- Databases are maintained in either FLASH or SDRAM
- BCAS Verifier – Conditional Access Module
- Responsible for interfacing with smart card driver, parsing the ECM and EMM data, setting the ECM keys and setting the descrambling algorithm.
- Implements the CAS system(Multi-2) as specified by ARIB B25.
- ARIB Closed Captions
- Closed captions are captions that are hidden in the video signal, invisible without a special decoder. Captions on video are text located somewhere on the picture.
- They provide a text representation of a program’s dialogue and sound effects for the people who are audio impaired or hard of hearing; The transmission of closed caption follows the ARIB STD B36 and ARIB STD B37
- DSM-CC Module
- Implements the various protocols specified by the ISO 13818-6 standard.
- Also includes the parsing routines to parse the various DSM-CC tables and messages.
- Over The Air (OTA) Module
- Monitors availability of downloadable binary data in the Transport Stream and downloads data based on information from Software Download Trigger Table and Download Content Descriptor.
- Functions are supported by OAD module
- Engineering services like Updating and addition of the receiver software, updating the data used commonly in the receiver, Genre code table, program characteristic code table, reservation term table and Frequency List and Change information.
- ARIB 5 Plane Graphics
- Japanese ARIB standard proposes totally 5 overlapping display planes out of which 2 are generic graphics planes, 1 still picture plane, 1 video plane and 1 control plane.
- Electronic Program Guide (EPG) Manager
- Monitoring of EIT table for short and extended event descriptors
- Storing of EPG events in ARIB SI Database
- Displaying the following program information like Current program, Future program.
- Allowing navigation between different program information
- Interfacing with the SI parser and Database module to get the EPG Information
- Using the hardware abstraction layer APIs for the display of program guide
