Sangita Singh is Senior Vice President and Head of Enterprise Application Services (EAS) business unit at Wipro Technologies. At EAS business unit, Sangita provides strategic guidance to the various product practices and plays a pivotal role in furthering the business unit’s goal, of being the leading services provider in enterprise application space, through innovative service delivery models and business practices. Sangita joined Wipro on 1st August 1992, after completing her bachelors of engineering degree from Regional Engineering College, Durgapur, and has been contributing to the growth of Wipro for the past 14 years across multiple roles and responsibilities.

1. Wipro has been recently rated as a leader in SAP implementation services by an Independent survey, what has helped Wipro create differentiation in SAP space?

Sangita: Wipro is increasingly being sought by clients as a partner of choice in their business transformation initiatives to provide a long-term and strategic approach to bringing the value of SAP investments. The Forrester’s recognition validates of Wipro’s leadership in the SAP services space

We have been making focused investments in developing deep industry expertise and technology leadership over the past few years. This strategy has helped us become the preferred partner for our customers in Utilities, Oil & Gas and Consumer & Packaged goods industries.

Earlier this year SAP recognized Wipro’s contribution in delivering exceptional value and innovation to customers by naming us SAP global services partner – a category reserved for select group of global organizations.

2. How is Wipro influencing its ecosystem to drive innovation that benefits customers?

Sangita: Wipro is expanding its solutions-centric ecosystem by creating focus on partnerships across the value chain. Our business relationship with technology companies like Cisco, EMC, Microsoft, HP, Oracle and SAP is becoming multifaceted and is growing across our IT businesses. The partnerships are strengthened by our Strategic partnership model, which enables us to work with partners to build Technology, define Product Strategy, align go-to-market activities, invest in a support ecosystem and execute the partnership action plan.

We have set up a SAP Solutions Lab at our Bangalore campus to create eSOA based solutions and services and then reach out to customers through eSOA workshops that provide an opportunity to define their SOA roadmap. We are also at the forefront of driving SAP developer (SDN), business (BPX) and Industry networks (IVN). Our acquisition of Infocrossing is directed towards enhancement of our efforts to build platform capabilities.

3. Can you elaborate on how Wipro has been helping clients in adopting SOA?

Sangita: Our Enterprise SOA practice has developed innovative solutions, tools and applications to help organization understand and exploit the benefits of an Enterprise SOA platform. Today Wipro is at the forefront of advising clients on developing their SOA roadmaps and helping them monetize the effort.

4. How will Wipro leverage its strengths as an innovator to help its ERP customers derive value of their investments?

Sangita: Innovation at Wipro is about doing things better and differently. An example of this is our Factory Model, which consolidates globally, distributed IT functions into a central supply chain that works much like an automobile assembly line, grouping common pieces of work for better repeatability, quality and delivery efficiencies.

Similarly, Wipro has been making strategic investments in developing deep Industry expertise and has developed industry specific SAP implementation and global roll-out templates. Wipro leverages a library of methodologies, tools and solutions to help derive non –linearity in its engagements.
