Windows Vista™ Certification for ISVs
Wipro has partnered with Microsoft to certify software running on Windows
Vista™. This certification entitles your customers that your software will
provide the highest quality Windows Vista™ experience.

What does this certification mean to
you?
Certified for Windows Vista™ logo program indicates that a software product
adheres to the certification guidelines of Microsoft. These guidelines can
found at Certified for Windows Vista™ Requirements
To an Independent Software Vendor(s) (ISVs), licensing the logo enables the use
of the logo on their product packaging, advertising, collateral, and other
marketing materials.
This signals to customers that:
 The product is designed to take advantage of the unique
benefits of running on Microsoft Windows Vista™
The logo is intended to inform end-users that the certified
product complies with a set of criteria that ensures a convenient and
predictable user experience
In addition, ISVs with one or more products that pass certification testing for
this logo program are eligible to join the Microsoft Certified Partner Program
at the Member level.
Certification Process
The following table provides a step-by-step process to help you enroll into
this certification program.

Pretest - Go through the requirements and test cases, pretest, submit
applications on winqual, run the product id tool and fill waiver form if needed
Registration
- Provide company information for registration
Contract - Agree for terms & conditions and sign the
contract
Payment - Accepted modes are wire transfer or credit card
Submission - Submit applications/software by uploading to Wipro’s secure
FTP server.

Identify Test pass/Test cases -
Test passes on each configuration of machine depend on the
Stock Keeping Units (SKUs). If the application is a Win-32 app
then a full test pass will be executed on 32-bit machine and a partial test
passes on 64-bit machine.
If there are two SKUs separately for X86(32bit machine) and X64(64 bit machine)
then full test pass is executed on each machine configuration.
Execution - Run the identified test cases.
Bug Logging - Wipro will create consolidated test reports for
each application tested. It will include the test results for each test case
executed on the application. Bugs will be logged into the bug reports designed
by Microsoft with customization if required.
Re-Testing - This test pass will be needed if the initial test
pass contains bugs to be fixed. The Regression test pass will be conducted on
the new build to verify the bugs fixed. Sometimes there can be multiple
regression test passes on an application if the bugs remain not fixed or newer
bugs are found with updated builds. |
Criteria - All the
bugs are verified by Wipro except for those bugs which are ‘postponed’ or
‘Won’t fix’ /’Exempted’ - as decided by MS, ISV and Wipro.

Schedule
The standard certification test will be completed in 1-2 calendar weeks. Once
we receive the required deliverables & payment your product will be queued
for testing. We will make our best effort to accommodate as per your schedule
indicated during the registration process.
