Avionics is a fast-growing segment which is constantly adopting emerging technology to cope with both critical and non-critical work. This adoption is driving exponential growth in software complexity, for example: autonomous systems, adaptive systems etc. Companies are also facing the challenge where their traditional approaches and processes are stressed and unaligned to commercial practices.

Compliant to DO 178B & 254 Levels D to A, Wipro delivers several critical and non-critical Avionics work packages for our customers. Here are some of our work packages.

Safety critical systems

Functionality of avionics software continues to expand every day. But additional software options give rise to more lines of code and greater opportunity for mistakes. Simultaneously, the more critical an avionics software suite becomes, the higher is the risk of cyber terrorism. Therefore, safety critical software offers foolproof security with software development tools, testing and verification utilities, and operating systems.

So we have come up with a range of safety critical systems for this purpose. They are:

• Cabin Electronics: This includes development of full system software for complete cabin functions like Lighting, Temperature, Audio channeling, System control, Redundancy, Emergency crew alert, Safety signaling, ICE Protection, Air condition control, Doors & slides control, FAP GUI software.
• Emergency systems: Development and Testing of Smoke detection and Extinguish System Software (DO-178B Level-B).
• Fuel Management: Development and Testing of complete Software (DO-178B Level-A).
• Flight Control Systems: prototype board development and embedded software.

On-board / Non-critical systems

Among the non-critical systems, we have come up with solutions like

• Portable Water Heating and Freeze Protection System: Development of control and monitoring system including support for certification, prototype production and maintenance.
• In-flight entertainment: Controllers.
• Communications on-board: Network server system (ARINC 763), GSM on Air.

Ground Systems In Ground systems category, we have developed:

• Satellite Navigation - GPS/GNSS Receivers, INS integration, location based services.
• Satcom - VSAT, Satellite phones, Ground stations, SDR.
